Make a Day of It at Prairie Harvest Fest in Morris

Some fall days are made for slowing down. Others are made for running a 5K, shopping for handmade finds, admiring classic cars, cheering through a demo derby and watching fireworks light up the night.

Prairie Harvest Fest brings it all together Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at the Stevens County Fairgrounds in Morris. The annual festival celebrates the people, traditions and community spirit that make rural Minnesota special—with free admission and activities for all ages.

Start the Day on the Move

Prairie Harvest Fest gets an energetic start with the RUSC Kinship 5K at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers of all fitness levels are welcome to take part in a scenic route through Morris, with awards presented to the top finishers.

Find Something Made Close to Home

After the run, the Craft Show opens at 9 a.m. Inside, local artisans, crafters and vendors will fill the fairgrounds with handmade goods, regional specialties and plenty of unique finds.

Take your time browsing the booths, meet the people behind the products and pick up something you aren’t likely to find on an ordinary shopping trip. The show continues until 4 p.m., giving you plenty of time to explore between other festival activities.

Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Vintage Favorites

Engines, chrome and automotive nostalgia take center stage from noon to 3:30 p.m. during the Heartland Motor Company Car & Bike Show.

Walk among classic cars, hot rods, bikes and vintage vehicles while chatting with the people who keep them looking their best. Visitors can also vote for their favorites in several categories, so take a good look before choosing your winners. Even if you don’t know what’s under the hood, there is plenty here worth stopping to admire.

See Morris on Parade

At 4 p.m., the celebration moves through Morris with the Prairie Harvest Fest Grand Parade. Local businesses, organizations and community groups will fill the route along Atlantic Avenue with hometown pride and festival spirit. Find a spot and enjoy one of those classic community traditions that makes a fall festival feel complete.

Then, Let the Cars Crash

Once the parade wraps up, the action heads back to the fairgrounds for the Chaos Motorsports Demo Derby at 5 p.m. Expect roaring engines, hard hits and plenty of crowd-pleasing excitement as drivers compete in this popular festival event. It’s loud, lively and a memorable way to shift into the evening.
